Meet Genevieve
Owner, Lead Planner + Creative Director
With a background in anthropology, Genevieve brings a unique perspective to the world of wedding planning. Her heart beats for adventure, cultural exchange, and the magic of ancient traditions. She believes that every wedding should be a celebration of love, a creative expression of culture, and an opportunity to strengthen connection and build community.
After nearly a decade long career as a birth doula, she has a unique understanding of the importance of creating a supportive and nurturing environment for her clients, helping them to navigate the sometimes overwhelming process of planning a wedding with joy and ease. Her love of designing and hosting elaborate gatherings combined with her experience planning her own wedding are what nudged Genevieve toward a career in event planning.
With spreadsheets, checklists, and contingency plans galore, she’s a type A+, but exudes a calming and grounded energy that can instantly soothe any wedding day jitters. Her attention to detail, creative flair, and deep commitment to her clients make her the perfect planner for your big day.

Acknowledgement
The Wedding Witch is based in the Portland Metro area, which rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. We want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We are grateful to these communities for being the original caretakers of this land, and for their ongoing vibrant presence.
We also acknowledge the systemic policies of genocide, relocation, and assimilation that still impact many Indigenous/Native American families today. As settlers and guests on these lands, we respect the work of Indigenous leaders and families, and pledge to make ongoing efforts recognize their knowledge, creativity, and resilience. A portion of every sale we make is paid as “real rent” to the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, an Indigenous women-led organization that “cultivates rematriation” and works to return Indigenous land to Indigenous people.
